Good morning!
Winter has made an appearance here again in the Skeena Valley. The beginning of the week we saw beautiful clear skies, temperatures down to around -5 celcius at night. Did you get to see the awesome sight Monday night of the moon with the incredibly bright Venus and Jupiter?
Yesterday the clouds rolled in and we've received about 4 inches of snow in upper Thornhill and some freezing rain. This morning there is still some freezing rain showers and the temperature is slowly climbing. My outdoor digital thermometer says its currently -0.7 (up from -1.9 at 8 am this morning). The airport on the next higher bench area from where I live is still reading at -2. The forecast is for +3 and showers later this afternoon.
I was downtown in Safeway on Wednesday and overheard someone remarking that they were feeling under the weather - their friend remarked there's a bad flu & cold going around. This morning my head is stuffed up - I should go and read up on my Sedona Method - concepts for letting go of colds. I hope your health is hale & hearty!
It's been a week of ups and downs, sending in resumes for job positions and the wait. I find it's the wait that gets to me. So I've been busy making new years tickets for the Northern Motor Inn and working on new design & content for the Bear Creek Contracting website. This weekend I think it's time to rearrange the living room and put up a Christmas tree. I have a new kitten in the house so I've donated most of my glass ornaments to Salvation Army store.
Is your christmas shopping all done? Just about done - I have a couple of gift certificates to pick up. So far I haven't spent as much as last year, but I haven't been a Scrooge about it either. It seems harder each year to buy for my family. Dad is retired and likes to do woodworking - he's got most of his tools/toys already so finding new ideas is more difficult. I did find one new tool for him. I think I'll round out the last of his presents with a gift certificate from Rona / Terrace Builders. My brother - well, he tends to buy his toys before we even get a chance to think about what to buy him. I usually resort to buying something for his kitchen as he loves to cook. Mom is probably the easiest to buy for. If all else fails for her - a gift certificate a Fabricland is always very welcomed as she is an avid quilter.
